bleeding lemon



1. Take pieces of cut lemons washed with ammonium thiocyanate..
2. Dip the knife in FeSO4 solution...
3. Blood red colour appear due to presence of Fe3+....
4. Fe3+ reacts with ammonium thiocyanate  to give the colour....
5. This is used to distinguish between ferrous (no red colour) and ferric (red colour)...
